Unbelievable Rattle

A couple weeks ago I developed a rattle from somewhere under my 92 s-10 pickup. Sounds exactly like a tambourine and I can't figure out where it's coming from. The sound usually is around 20 mph and going over a bump doesn't make it rattle. Lasts for only a second at a time, nothing for several more, then again. I was worried that it was the clutch or transmission. Same with the clutch in or out. Even happens with the engine off coasting. Exhaust is tight. Shocks and springs look fine. Totally stumped.

Just changed them. This noise just started a couple weeks ago. Sounds like a hundered washers on the end of a string. Never heard anything like it.
