Recharging the A/C

On a 97 S10 4cyl. 2.2, How much coolant does it hold? I have put in two 10.5oz. cans already but it doesn't seem as cold as it should be.

Re: Recharging the A/C

It takes 2 lbs or 32 ozs. charge.
What is your low and high side readings at idle and at 2K with compressor running?
To recharge it right you need some of this stuff.

Re: Recharging the A/C

I fill it until the gauge reads in the blue zone (that came with the kit). I filled my S-10 and the air still did not work. The next day I checked it again and it was low and actually took 24oz more. 68 degrees gets cold after a while. The compressor has to have at least the minimum amount of R134 before it will kick in. I was lucky, the compressor was not seized.
