I've got a 1987 302 that is fuel injected.I want to make it carburated. It came out of a Lincoln and will go into a 1985 F150.Can it be done?

I'd be concerned that the electric fuel pump pressure might be too much for the carb float and flood the engine with gas. You might be able to check with a local speed shop and ask them if they use injection pumps for carbureted engines. They might also have low pressure electric pumps for carburetor applications.

Next, I'd be concerned about the compatibility of the existing cable linkage set-up for the gas pedal to carb as well as the automatic transmission cable if it has an auto trans.

I'm thinking that the cylinder heads should mate with the carb intake manifold since it's the same engine and the speed shop might know that too.

Hope this helps -

The '85 F-150 that I'm putting it in is not fuel injected .I also like the ease of maintenance of carburated engines.

The vehicle that the 302 is going in is not fuel injected. It had a 351 carburated engine in it.
