89 Cut Super: Engine hood cannot be released. I got myself under the chassis. My finger can fell the cable being dragged, but the hood is stuck somehow.

My plan:
1. Spray lube oil around the release
Or
2. Get the grill out, so that I work on it with a better view
Or
3. As I read the past post, I should be able to use a long screw driver to open the release. But the problem is, I cannot see how the release mechanism works and don't know where the release is. Could any expert tell me where to look at or provide me a brief drawing? Thanks!
