94 G-20 water temp gauge

My 94 van runs great. My old 85" G-30 rusted away with over 325,000 miles on it. Darn thing would still start, but I live in the rust belt.

Anyway, my question is this. How do I run the wire to hook up a new temperature gauge in the 94? Since I've owned the truck, the gauge in the dash will not work. I've followed all the wires and cleaned all the connections, even in the dash, and added a new censor, but still nothing. So I thought maybe it would be possible to run independent wires from the censor, and by pass the wire block.

How do I do that?

Usually the auxiliary gauge comes as a kit. It should contain all the necessary wiring plus instructions.
