I know how hard that one tenth can be to drop to get into the lower numbers. The night I ran my 11.97 I ran 12.01, 12.01, 12.06, 12.10, and 11.97. :lol:

Once I read the title I knew you ran 13's (As I use to be able to run those times before). Upgrade the clutch so that you don't have to worry about it in the future. I've heard that your car has really weak bushings, so if you haven't changed those already, now would be the time :D

Some tracks require, I think most tracks really, require them if you run faster than 14.0.

I had one on when I raced my Z28, but I never broke 13's... horrid clutch.

just the stock Pirelli Pzeros, Z rated, but yes lots of tractions issues. I think thats why my clutch is slipping, cause i have to slip it to get a good launch.

Most vehicles comming out now a days that you are gonna see at a track are running low 14s, high 13s. Why don't the dealerships give you a helmet for free? Include it in mark up or something.

I wonder if I'm in the 13s yet. Still haven't had time to take my car to the tracks since the extra mods about 8 months ago haha.

Actually, in truth, I'm scared I'll nuke my gearbox on the launch lol...no money for that kinda thing atm.

jayson, so that means you were racing with no helmet to begin with? weird, at out local track, EVERYONE running on the tracks is required to wear a helmet.

NHRA requires a rollcage at 11.49.

There are many different types of cages you can get...the one required for a 9 second pass is much more solid than the one required under 11.49.

yeah i was racing without a helmet, personally i like the no helmet better. My headrest makes me sit uncomfortably with the helmet on. And its harder to see out the sides or check where the other car is at if your winning or lineing up.

But whats really fun is driving around the city with a helmet on!
