Moustache and sunglasses; Making of Ferrari 308 QV

Okay, here I am again, with a little model I have been working on a very small amount of time, in between studying and procrastinating.

It's basically revell's (or monogram's) 1/24 th ferrari 308 GTB. I like it, a lot, but I love the QV even more.

After researching, i found the little details that I like about it, it's the deep chin spoiler (standard on some QV's) and it's the front with the extra foglights (not yet pictured). I also made an aerofoil (that's how the spoiler thingy on the roof is called. and I switched the rims. Now it's sporting some fujimi rims, which have been slightly altered in width of lips to make it racey and classy at the same time.opcorn:

I m not feeling the ultimate QV modification tho, it's basically saying that I should put a 328-style ventilation in the front hood. Hard to do, I haven't found a solution to it yet...

Okay, so here are the first testshots.

Enjoy and leave a comment. I m actually feeling red on this one, no?

Ciaociao ladies!

Oli

Re: Moustache and sunglasses; Making of Ferrari 308 QV

So, just to clarify. The things that set the 308 QV apart from the 308 GTB, are the aerofoil (which I forgot to add in the following pictures, but it's almost ready), the deep chin spoiler, with the added driving lights in the grille, and the obvious three louvers in the front trunk area.

Other improvements that have been made are the panellines in the back (thanks eric) and of course the piece of plasticard on the rear (looks a big grey-ish)

That's it for now.

Oli

EDIT : I wanted to thank Veyron for helping me figuring a way out to put the louvers in the front, it was pretty bad due to fatty plastic, but eventually it came out pretty nice. Thanks!

Re: Moustache and sunglasses; Making of Ferrari 308 QV

yeah.. i was going to dig out the photos of how i did mine but yours came out very nice.
My grill/vents came courtesy of a italeri/revell 288GTO. In fact, pretty much the whole of the bonnet came from the kit.
Are you sure the deep spoiler was a QV thing?
I'm sure I've seen some fibreglass bodied cars with the deep spoiler.
Anyway.
Keep it coming; we need more 308s here.

Re: Moustache and sunglasses; Making of Ferrari 308 QV

Wow, thanks tang for the awesome signature picture, I love it!

THANKS TANG ! YOU ARE THE MAN ! ! !

On the model, thanks for the comments; and drunken monkey; yeah i do agree, the spoiler came as an optional part. Most QV's I ve seen tho, drive around with it? Just a personal preference!

Eitherway, I m finishing up the touches, such as thinning the aerofoil and getting it ready. Thing is, I ll have to construct a second rear view mirror, that might become a PITA.

more than 25 years later, the 308 is still drop-dead gorgeous.
