Temp. guage

Will putting a after market Temp. guage effect the computer on my 01 8.1. I replaced the sending unit and still get no reading so it must be the guage.

It won't affect the computer. I've tapped into several of my stock gauge wires to use aftermarket gauges, and I've had zero problems. I used the stock wire that used to go to my stock tach for the aftermarket one, and it works perfectly.
