water problem

The carpeting on my 1996 Olds Cutlass Supreme is water-soaked. The water is in front of and behind the driver's seat. No other area of the car, like seats etc. are wet and the water has not come in through an open window etc. Help!

Re: water problem

Sounds like the water drain for the AC is plugged up.

if you look in the engine compartment down the back of the engine, you will see a rubber tube thing sticking out of the firewall. Check it to see if it is blocked up.

Re: water problem

Thanks for the interest. The mechanic I've been using for several years says the AC drain clog would cause water on the passenger side. In fact, this did happen a year or so ago and that was the problem. Last evening, I ran a garden hose at pretty good pressure down into the driver's side windshield wiper housiing and didn't find any water coming inside the car. Also think my window seals are good. Any other thoughts?
