1995 Lumina ABS issueEAGLESFAN 06-04-2007, 12:03 PM I own a 1995 Chevy Lumina, 3.1L V6 engine and automatic transmission with 64,000 miles on it. The issue that I am having with the ABS normally occurs when braking at speeds below 15mph. At that point the traction control light comes on and the braking power is reduced. Once the car comes to a stop, the traction control light turn off and braking is normal again. I have heard that there are two sensors that control the traction control, one in the transmission and one on the axle near the brake rotor. Can someone point me in the right direction to repairing this issue. Thank you P.S. I'm thinking of just pulling the ABS fuse. Where is this fuse located? maxwedge 06-04-2007, 04:22 PM This should be scanned with an abs function scanner, this will check for codes and pinpoint a suspect wheel speed sensor, the fuse is under the hood in the main panel. There is a speed sensor for each wheel in the wheel hubs, this operates the tract. control and abs. precious1 06-04-2007, 07:00 PM I had the same problem! Just pull the stupid fuse. People drove cars for many decades before stupid ABS was invented. It works fine without it! The fuse box is located (on my 94) under the hood, driver's side, under a blasted metal bar. Pretty well marked. Good luck. EAGLESFAN 06-05-2007, 07:28 AM Thanks for the advice guys. I'll probably just go ahead and pull the fuse. If I have some free time over the summer I might try to pinpoint the problematic sensor and replace it. I just have a feeling it might be more work than it's worth.
