Unhappy Tiny Electrical Problem

1999 Chevy S10 ExCab Xtreme. I'm not really sure what my problem really is....at first I thought I had a bad light switch on the door, you know those pin switches, because thats what I was told by the tech that installed a Viper alarm on the truck last weekend, becasue you would close the door (passenger side) and arm the alarm and it would chirp once and then a couple seconds after it would chirp again like if you left the door open, so I bought a couple switches on ebay, I swapped the "bad" one with one of the ones I just recieved, but that didnt fixed my problem, so I finally decided to test the switches with my tester (i know I should've done this before buying the replacement ones ) and they all work just fine. I was checking the conections on the driver's side, since that side works just fine, and when I check for continuity on the black and the orange on driver's side, I dont get anything, then I re-installed the switch (driver's side) and I dont get continuity untill I realese the pin on the switch, but on the passanger side, which is the one Im having trouble with, I get continuity on the black and orange wires with the switch not even plugged in.
I dont know what my problem could be, Im assuming the insulation of those 2 wires is worn out and the wires are making contact somewhere, but I really hope is something else, before I start taking all my dashboard apart , I didnt have a lot of time today to mess with it, thats as far as I got today, I just bought the truck last week, thank you very much everyone for your help
