blown tyre- car shaky, veers to the left ---- please help

I was driving home from work (in my camry) when another driver entered an intersection with me still in it to avoid an accident i swirved and mounted the curb. this caused my front left tyre to blow out... I was traveling at 40km per hr (about 24-25mile i think that equates to) I managed to change the tyre fine (woohoo) but now the car slightly shakes (in the steering) and veers to the left. (at this stage i have only travel home and not traveled above 40km/hour.) could this mean i need a wheel balance or alignment, or is it likely to be more serious. I am taking it to a mechanic on monday to look at and can't afford to be 'ripped off'

Please share your thoughts.... much appreciated

It may be only me but the subject line should reflect your problem or lot of guys will miss it.

People do search and go away from subject like this.

It's likely to be more serious. You have already changed the wheel involved, so the only other possibilities are bent or loose suspension components. The mechanic will put the car up on a lift and check all the components. Don't drive the car if you can avoid it. It may not be safe.

Re: opinions please!!!!!!

at what speeds is the car shaking? it might be as simple as your wheel being out of balance if it is only happening at high speeds.
