how do you engage the a/c compressor to charge the system when the system is too low on freon to operate on its own?

Re: 96 lumina a/c

If you evacuate the system it is easy to draw in the inital charge, barring that the first (Only) can, if the system is empty, can be charged upside down this will engage the compressor.
