Fuel pump

I have a 96 Lumina and it's not getting fuel . I replaced the fuel filter. Where is the fuel pump located? The relay and fuse are good. I was thinking the fuel pump is in the gas tank . I did turn on the ignition with the fuel line disconnected at the filter and no gas would come out. Any other thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks
