Impala Issues

Hey All,

Just want to start off by saying what a great forums, very imformative.

Now I have a few issues I need some guidance on. First let me say that I recently had my transmission fixed, I had the adaptive shift error and had to get the tranny rebuilt, they also did upgrades on it. That cost me about $1800 (warrenty covered $600).

Now I seem to be having a oil leak, at first I thought it was maybe a transmission leak as I was told to watch out for them. So I took it back to the tranny place and they hoisted up the car and took a look, it looks like the oil is coming from the oil plug as the tranny is all clean and dry. So I took it to Jiffy Lube as that is where I get my oil changes done, they took a look and said the plug is tight and so is the oil filter, I was a bit low on oil so they topped me off and gave me a new filter free of charge.

I was hoping that was it, but today I saw some more oil on the driveway. I haven't crawled under to see if the oil pan is wet again as it's dark right now. But I'm wondering if there is something I can check or look at. Any tips would be appreciated.

Also, it seems that my climate control doesn't like to change to Panel/Floor mode, I did take the dash apart to change the bulbs in the control so I may have pinched a hose or something but the panel and floor work find if I use either, its just the combo that doesn't work. Could the selector know be messed?

Thanks,
Michael

Re: Impala Issues

Clean off around the pan area, if oil appears around the plug again the drain plug gasket should be replaced.

Re: Impala Issues

Looks like the leak is from somewhere else, going to take it to my mechanic later. My dad said it may be the head gasket.

Does anyone have a suggestion to the climate control issue I asked about in the first post?

Mike

Re: Impala Issues

Just wanted to post an update.

My dad and I found the source of the leak, it was the oil pressure sensor. I bought a replacement and we changed it and so far no leaks.

Now does anyone have any ideas why my panel/floor doesnt work on my climate control yet the two alone work and not the combo?

Mike
