Need to replace timing belt & water pump -- how much should it cost?

2003 Jetta -- need to replace timing belt and water pump (along with front seals and cv boot). Received a quote of $1450 for parts and labor! Is this standard cost or too much? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

what engine?

Are they replacing the axle joint or just the boot?

avg timing belt/w-pump replacement is about 750-1000 depending on engine
