I know many of you guys have manual hubs but I figured you might still want to hear about this. At GOX my drivers side auto lock hub snapped. Carlton had a spare from his X so I put it on. The inner components fit just fine but the hub cover looked a little different and I put it on anyway. The hub functioned fine at low speeds and when locked but at higher speeds there was an odd rattle. This rattle would increase in volume on right hand turns where more weight was put on the left wheel and would decrease on left hand turns when weight was reduced on that wheel. Once back at camp I left the internal components but put on the original hub cover and the noise was gone. Now this leads me to believe that the hub cover was slightly different causing a bit of a rattle. For those interested when I finally got home it turns out both hubs needed replacing as well as my wheel bearings. The parts were getting air shipped so obviously they wont arrive any time soon.
