Hadn't planned on it - red isn't really my color. I'd consider purchasing a liveried GTR like the '96 GULF, '96 FINA or '95 Ueno Clinic in 1/12th scale, but I'm not sure if Model Workshop has any intentions of going in that direction. I believe they would need to license the graphics from each sponsor which would be costly and difficult (assuming they wanted to be legit about it :dunno:).

True, there are some subtle differences in the details specific to a '96 GTR. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had been accurately captured. :thumbsup:

I had this text in my folder of images - I am not certain of the source.

Gulf Racing/GTC Motorsports McLaren, sponsored by "Gulf Oil", which ran in the 1996 BPR season opener at Paul Ricard, France. Pierre-Henri Raphanel and Lindsay Owen-Jones drove this car at the 4-hour race. Raphanel obtained the quickest practice lap of the McLaren's, but had an off due to cold tires at La Verrerie. The accident cause the team to run the white color paint scheme for this McLaren.

What it doesn't fully explain is that this white GTR was one of the 1995 Gulf GTRs (#08R) that was substituted for their 1996 car (#15R) following the crash described above.

As far as how it fared, I know that the white Gulf DNF'd in the Paul Ricard race, but I don't recall exactly why. WSPR race results say the car driven by LOJ and PHR did 31 laps and retired due to "suspension", however, it also credits those results to #15R. :nono:

I do seem to remember that they had to start at the back of the field because it did not qualify. Maybe in their rush to prepare the car for the race they forgot a bolt somewhere? :grinno:

I only seen the white LM and it is sitting right in my display shelve.. there is no white GTR exists...

why is this though?
Apart from the burnt orange, in my opinion its the best colour for it. makes something that is such a beauty to behold but an animal at heart appear so angelic.
In all honesty iv only been looking into the models out there for the last few days, trawled through hundreds of web pages searching for 1 and your reply would explain my lack of success. But im genuinly amazed there isnt 1 out there.
As you can tell im a virgin to all this bar my information overload but i have already purchased 1 model which i dont believe to be a real collectable as such, a beautiful looking thing- just hope its as good as i believe on arrival, but how can i find/create this dream car of mine 2 sit on my mantelpiece?
