1963SS rearend swap

Need advice on how to determime overall length when having rearend cut to
fit. 2.77 borge warner from 87 TA to put in 1963SS. Have minnie tubed to
frame rail for max tire clearence. Using stock 15x8 rims P-245-60-15 tires
I think i now how but need reasurence. Got any advice! Thank's mikeII

Get out a piece of graph paper. Figure out a convenient scale, like one 1/4" box = 2 or 3 inches on your car. You may have to use 11 x 17 paper or tape a few pieces together.

Next replicate what you already have on your car in scale. Work from the centerline of the car. if I were drawing this on CAD, all I would do is draw half of the car and mirror it over.

Draw in the frame rails, tubs, leaf springs and wheels with the offset. You may even want to draw the wheel and tire separately so you can move it around on the main drawing. The centerline of the axle is what's important, just capture everything and put them in the right place. Once you have all that, the back of the wheel distance is your axle flange-to-flange distance which should do it for you. Take that difference from the axle you want to put in, divide it by 2 and you know how much to narrow each tube and axle.
