My new fenderwell intake...

i've had the stand alone K&N aircharger for a while but decided to make it into a full blown fenderwell setup, here is what I had before today:

and here is what it looks like now:

and here is what I used to support the piping as it went into the fenderwell:

(roof flashing)

so I ended up needing:
the roof flashing
a piece of 3" thin wall PVC pipe(about 10 inches)
a 45 degree 3" I.D. rubber elbow
a 3" I.D. rubber coupling
high temp black paint(for the pvc pipe)
and a 4x7 air filter...

just removed my old filter, measured to my firewall for the PVC, removed my driver's head light, put the elbow in the fenderwell and place the bend at the hole in the fenderwell, had to trim the roof flashing to fit flush(by far the hardest part)... then I cut the PVC piping and installed it making sure everything would work(took some time and was a tight fit but it all worked)... then I took it apart, painted the PVC, and reinstalled it, then I put the filter in the firewall and connected it to the elbow... took a little over 2 hours but it looks well, i'm not trying to brag but I think it looks better than what a lot of the vendors are putting out there...

Re: My new fenderwell intake...

yeah, I'm normally against the "homebrew" CAIs, I say let the vendors do their job, and is why I purchased the K&N kit, but the fenderwell intakes are much more efficient than what I had... I had been reluctant to do a fenderwell because I didn't want it to look bad... but I decided I would give it a whirl and if I didn't like the outcome could always go back to the stock K&N setup, it turned out a lot better than I expected, which is always a good thing, in fact, my brother thought I bought a "kit" offline to do it, when I told him "aisle 15 at Lowes" he just laughed
