Question power steering working, then not?

found another little querk in my 94 camry.

once in awhile, the power steering will be like i have none at all, like it will tighten up but not be unbareable. a couple of turns later and its back to normal again. i checked the fluid level and it was ok... any ideas?

thanks

...or it may be a loose belt.

Re: power steering working, then not?

I have had a similar intermitant problem with my power steering on my 92 Camry. More recently I've noticed that if I accelerate agressively the power steering will become manual. This will last as long as it takes to hit a rounded curb on the right side (5-15km/h) then the power steering works well. I've observed this alternatance twice now.
