Im new to this forum and I just bought a grand prix w/ 190,000 miles on it. I have a few issues that I desperately need some help with.
first, the windows wont roll down. I have checked all of the wiring and can not find any shorts or anything. I am lost. and it is HOT! the a/c works just fine but when a car sits outside in the hot sun for 8 hours while i am at work, it is REALLY hot to get in! I dont know where to look next. any ideas??

second, the passenger door wont open. it has power locks and I can hear the locking mechanism working but it wont open. any ideas???

I would greatly appreciate anyones input!

welcome to AF.

The first things to check are the fuse and the drivers side master window switch. All power to all the windows is fed through this switch.

On the door lock issue, you may need to lubricate the door latch and the linkage rods that actuate the power locks. If that doesn't help, then the actuator is probably weak and can't pull the latch all the way to unlock.
