1989 Cutlass Supreme blowing brake fuse

Just bought a 89 Cutlass Supreme for back-up car and to save gas. My problem is the brake fuse keeps blowing. Sometimes it happens in my driveway and sometimes it happens a few days of driving. The way that I can tell that I have no brake lights is that when the fuse blows the fasten seat belts dummy light comes on. Any Ideas where to start would be great. Thanks!!!

I would start looking at the wires in the trunk. Look for any wires that have been taped up. Could also be a wire that has worn through the insulation. You should be able to follow the wires through the trunk and under the rear seat. They usually run under the door jam along the bottom under the plate.
Also check the wires on the high mounted stop light.
good luck
