2003 Tiburon Is The Best

ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS THAT THE TIBURON IS THE NICEST, STRONGEST, AND COMPLETELY THE BEST CAR YOU CAN GET FOR THE MONEY.

Just because its priced low doesn't mean its a bad car. Cant wait till I get one. I'm sure a lot of you know about the tiburon. Is the sunroof worth the money. What i want to know the most is... is the six speed manual transmission worth the money or is the 5 speed good enough. whats the difference? When they say how much torque a car has, what does that mean? what does 170@4000 rpm (for example) mean?

If the choice is sun roof, or spend the money on better wheels and tires, I would go with the wheels and tires. I had the sun roof break on my 1990 VW Jetta, so I try to go simpler, less things to break. Besides, tires touch the road, and is the car's only contact with it, the sun roof is semi-fun, but if you go AC, what is the point?

I would pick the 6 speed tranny, as long as I didn't have to buy a whole bunch of other junk in a package that I didn't want.

Torque vs horsepower. You want all the torque that you can get for acceleration. You wants torque to be close to the horsepower number or maybe a little bit more torque than Horsepower.

The new Celica has like 180 HP, but the torque is no where near it, and that hurts its acceleration out of every corner. It has to be driven hard all the time to get the most out of the engine.

Having more Torque under your right foot lets you be able to accelerate harder without having to being the engine up to a boil first.

170@4000 RPM means that the engines peak HP is reached at 4000 RPM. We have now found out that the engine is 170HP and 181lbs TQ.
I have the 6 speed and the ratios are much closer together. The final drive ratios are the same for the 5&6 speeds but the 6 has 1 more gear crammed in the same space so it makes it easier to stay right in the power band.

they both are good

first of all, you want all the horsepower and torque you can get, it doesnt matter if the torque is higher than the horsepower, the more the better. torque comes from the size/displacement of the engine, for example, a v-8 usually has more torque than a v-6 and so on, usually the more the torque, the bigger the engine, torque is low end, for off the line acceleration. horsepower is generated with the engine rpm's, the higher the horsepower, the more the top end power, like you need to pass another car while your already moving 40 or 50 mph.
