Re: AC question

If the air coming out of the ducts isn't very cold after a few minutes, then yes, you might be low on freon (actually, it's R-134a).

If you're seeing something drip with the a/c on, it's the water draining away from the cold parts of the a/c system. It sweats just like the outside of a cold glass of water and they design it to drip out away from the cabin.

I don't know what the laws are where you live, but you can either take it to a mechanic to have the system filled with the proper amount, or try topping it off yourself a little bit at a time.

Two things:
-don't ever use a/c system "stop leak"
-If you don't know how to do a/c work, you probably shouldn't

Re: AC question

Thanks alot for your reply and info.. No im not gonna attemp this myself because i dont really know what to do and im not really equiped to refill it... So what caused this.. do you think there is a leak or could it be that the freon vapored away with the years. My car is a 2002 and, i got it last year with 47, 800 kms. So im gonna schedual an appointement with a qualified mechanic.. most probably where i got the car... Just wondering if there is a leak.. Hope not.. How would i top it myself ???

Re: AC question

Look under your hood above the upper engine mount. You'll notice a blue cap on a silver steel line. Go to advance and buy a recharge kit. Its a 25 dollar thing and there are even instructions on the bottle.

....Piece of cake bro.

I have no idea whats in montreal. I am in New york. Go to any auto parts store and ask them for a R-134a recharge kit. It will have all the adapters you'll need. Attach to the low side point which on our cars there is only that one on the top rail. Turn on your A/c on high, flip bottle upside down and shake while depressing the botton the bottle and watch the gauge on the re-charge kit. Voila...
