97 Rear hub assembly

I'm going to be replacing my passenger side rear hub assembly today. I read the chilton manual and it seems fairly easy. is it really just remove the tire, take off the cover thing, unplug the sensor, and unscrew four bolts? will i need any special tools? because all i have are sockets. I think its going to be an easy job, mechanic told me he'd do it and it would take him 3 hours. after reading the manual i see no reason for more than 1.5 hours of work. Also a friend of mine keeps swearing the job is a pain in the ass, but he always over complicates things. took him 2 hours to put a belt on. while it takes me 10 minutes.

well i'll check back within the hour, if nothing i guess i'm going at this somewhat blind. later

Its straight forwards as the book describes. I think you need a t-55 bit to remove the 4 bolts. You shouldn't have to touch your brake shoes either which makes things a lot easier.

yeah that mechanic is a thief, 3 hours of work my ass, i finished it in 45 minutes. and i didnt have taht special star bit, i broke the nuts loose at the back, and then just held the screw in place with my hand while i loosened em, to tighten em was the same way, and i'm sure i put em on tight enough. Going for a road test in a few minutes when my buddy gets here to follow me to make sure the tire is spinnig true. kind of an expensive part though, 149.99 but eh, sure beats paying 400 bucks at a no name garage. ( 600 had i let mieneke do it)

took it for a nice long drive. found some nice curvy roads, and hauled ass around the corners feeling for any vibration, and guess what?... NONE!!! smooth as the day i bought her.
