engine noise or just me?

I am trying to figure out if there is something wrong with my engine or “it’s all in my head”
When I bought (it was actually my brother that bought it) this car 2 ˝ years ago, I noticed a slight (what I thought) valve slap, but could not figure out which cylinder nor was I able to convince the dealer that its abnormal. Now after 67k, I can’t really hear that noise, but I am assuming the reason is because the whole engine became noisier; I used to be able to hear that distinctive metal noise when accelerating, now I just hear the whole engine revving up. I regularly use synthetic oil & change it whenever the service indicator tells me or a little earlier. I did not use any “snake oil” additives up to this point, but considering it.
I have a 95 Camry with 181k & that one is actually sounds quieter then 2005
What does your engine sounds like? May be it’s a "feature" of redesigned 2005  :screwy:

Thanks!

Of course it is hard to describe sounds!

As far as I remember, the owners manual of mine 04 LE says that slight metallic sound during acceletation is normal. That what I have been hearing.

Thanks Sam!

I am planning on going to other dealership and pretending to shop for the 05 Camry, see if it's got the same thing...
