wow, no offence but you must be retarded if you think the 2.2l is better than 2.4l. i mean unless you want a snail to beat you down the street then by all means get the 2.2l.

Re: looking for 95-97 2.2 (does not have to be ecotec) 5-spd cavvy

Not necessarily Stump.....mine is a 97 Z24....2.4....my car has 170,000KMs, that's like 100,000 down there in the US, Im in Canada, and my car is on its 4th 2.4 engine.......they are fast motors, but that rod bearing always goes and once it does, theres no fixing it, just drive as the clicking gets louder and faster until theres nothing left........poorly built engine. I want to find a way to prevent that......this engine I got now, is burning oil a lot, dont know what to do, and its probably gonna blow soon too....I have no idea what to do.....dont feel like spending another $1300 for another 2.4..............Ecotec swap is way too hard, and not putting a 2.2 in. Any ideas?

I have a 1996 Chevrolet Cavlier with a 2.2 I4 with the five speed that you are looking for. I am asking $1500 for it. It has a new transmission, new radiator, new water pump, new hoses, new alternator, and new tires all the way around. Matt- (940)-859-4541 infinity96@gmail.com

yhandor mabye y you have done your 3 engine swaps is because you go and put one in the car that has a shit load of km's on it. If you had of put one in with low km's the first place mabye you wouldn't have this problem.

Every replacement I have put in has 160,000...that is low....engines are usually supposed to last 300,000...give or take
