I just got this thing running and now its stalling as soon as Iput it in drive. It did this once before but started up and ran after about 15 min.

I have a similar idle problem but was caused by a definite event. Mine overheated on the highway and then I had problems.
I have cleaned the distributor posts and terminals inside and cleaned the rotor tip. It started to run better but still ran rough. today I removed the IAC(idle air control motor) at the throttle body and it was carboned up. I cleaned and lubed the shaft it goes back and forth on and now it runs better.
maybe this is your problem???

it took me 20 minutes to complete with no cost.

i had simular after a 30 mile up hill drive believe it to be not changing down ,i think i could need a gearbox oil change or aselector problem
