If you are worried about not voiding your warranty you could have the Chevy dealer install one in your Uplander. That way you could add the cooler for "peace of mind" and still have the vehicle covered under warranty with GM. I'm having my dealer install a remote starter in my Uplander because I had major issues with an aftermarket remote starter that was placed in my '97 Venture many years ago. It used to be listed in the owner's manual that GM did not recommend the installation of aftermarket items like the remote starter, because electrical problems among other things could occur. Boy were they right. I remember for years they said not to do it but people did anyways and then when a problem occurred, they expected the dealer to rectify it. I think that is one smart thing that GM did . And that is to come up with their own remote starter package that is dealer installed. that way you have trained GM personnel installing them , hopefully with no problems. The remote starter package is an option on the Uplander, but unfortunately,the one I bought did not have it, so that is why I'm having my local Chevy dealer install one. It should run me about $350 with all parts and labor. yeah it's a little more expensive than the aftermarket versions that are advertised, but with all the problems I had with my other vehicle, I think it's worth it if there are no hassles afterwards. That is why it might be a good idea to have your dealer install something like the trans cooler. They know your vehicle and can do any necessary work on it if something should occur later on, and it won't jeopardize your warranty.
