Gauges

Hey guys,

I've got an '85 K-10 (custom deluxe). I would like to change the dash around a bit. There is no factory tach, and this truck has the full size fuel gauge, with an empty location in the smaller gauge locations. Am I able to buy the smaller fuel gauge and place it in there with the existing wiring with no problems? I also have an aftermarket tach, but I'd also like to install the factory tach in the old fuel gauge location. Does anyone have any knowledge on this or advice on any probmems I may have?

Basicly, I'd like it to look like the sliverado package. (w/out AC of course)

Re: Gauges

i have an '85 c10 custom deluxe.
i went the more custom route, but what you're talking about will work.
you could just buy the gauge set for a silverado and install in the K.
all those sets are compatible with the other ones.
in 1985 'silverado' was an accessory package, like 'custom deluxe' was.
plus all the wiring is the exact same, so colors match.
best of luck to ya.

:edit:
i forgot also that many dealers sold custom deluxes with a/c as an added accessory (like mine, with a/c from the factory) so you could install one and still have a stock looking K. or if it's already there, you don't have to take it out. the original custom deluxes weren't supposed to have a/c, but some did. silverado packages came with a/c standard, though.
