Volkswagen Touareg SUV

The Touareg is VW's new SUV. VW have ambitiously touted it as the best all-round SUV on sale today, claiming it is a full-on off-roader at the same time beating the BMW X5 on-road. To top it off, luxury levels approach those of a Range Rover or X5. Developed in conjunction with Porsche's development of the Cayenne SUV, the Touareg will be fighting with the X5, Range Rover and Merc-ML for market sales. The car is found to be very capable off-road but no match for an X5 on the black stuff. It comes close, mind. Which leaves the question, will this car be a success for VW? I thought it would be until i checked out the prices, which show that the Touareg doesnt undercut its rivals by much.

Who'd drive a VW SUV when a BMW or Merc is only slightly dearer? I wouldnt, would you?

love the x5

im very intrested w/ the touareg, looks cool but the back reminds me of a raised up mini van. the price range is good for me for around 35k and w/ the x5 3.0i w/ all the options i like just goes far out of my budget. this car looks like a blend of the new porshe caynne, audi a4, and a passat. i like it how you can raise the car up/down and the interior looks luxurious and cool

The interior does look good. though if youre gonna have wood dont stop at a few splashes here and there, do it properly

Of course, taste is of the utmost importance. But look at the bit of wood above the glovebox, i mean, come on, that has to extend all the way to the end. It looks like the guy picked it up at Halfords and applied it onto the dashboard with a little superglue

But we both know the Touareg would run circles around the X5 on 90% of all real world road conditions.

I like that and the new Lincoln Navigator... forget build quality , something the VW actually has.
