Manual Locks To Automatic?DeCiX 04-17-2007, 11:35 PM My friends have upgraded their locks to power locks using commandoalarms.com was wondering if this kit would work http://www.commandoalarms.com/itm10004.htm considering the cavalier's have weird lock positions.. if that doesn't does anyone know where to buy a kit to upgrade? thanks much. muff34 04-18-2007, 11:06 AM If your friends have done conversion on same type of car then you should be ok you`ll have a definate advantage. I am doing a lock and pwr window conversion now on my Silvy now . My advantage is where I bought the two systems also had online install instructions, however I never used them as the insructions that came with it were pretty clear. check these guys out http://www.a1electric.com/index.htm Derk_eliso 04-18-2007, 11:23 AM ebay the parts, get best buy to install it.. GEEK SQUAD FTW!!! DeCiX 04-18-2007, 12:21 PM hmm so Eliso, you were able to make your power locks? And sorry wasn't specific enough, one friend changed a nissan truck, another honda accord. Was just wondering if anyone had done this before as, their locks go up and down, while ours go in and out. muff34 04-21-2007, 07:53 PM hmm so Eliso, you were able to make your power locks? Looking in the haynes manual it appears your car will have the rod type system ,it should not be difficult to do your car . Refer to the site I mentioned above under the power door lock section ,it will give you a general idea how to mount actuators. crank the window down to see if the actuator can go inside door between window and door . If it appears it will, go for it . Even if you don`t buy from A1 Electric it`ll give you the idea on install. 4 day delivery from LA to northern Mich . E- Bay pay your money take your chances. good luck whatever you decide salvation86 04-23-2007, 09:22 PM i've done it, took me a good two hours. to take apart the panels, and figure out how to put it in. but it works fine, just ebay the universal lock actuators. the fun part will be wiring them up. i didnt use any set. i just did the wiring myself. now time to have fun puttin in my alarm. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
