Can anyone help me?wiseguyz 04-15-2007, 03:48 PM I have a 96 Neon, and I can drive it around when its cold (lower than 35 degrees) for about a half hour, then the car gets too hot, and will not go above 20-25 miles an hour, no matter how far the gas pedal is pressed. Now that was okay in the winter when it was cold, but now that its Spring/Summer, well it doesn't take any time for the car to get too hot, causing me to only be able to do 20-25mph. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks denisond3 04-15-2007, 08:47 PM I would start by checking the fuel pressure. There should be a Schrader valve on the fuel rail, in the middle. You can have someone connect a pressure gauge there to check it for fuel pressure, both when it is cold, and later when it is hot and ready to give you problems. It should be about 49 psi all the time I think. I used one of the gauges that was for recharging R12 intoauto a.c. systems. Its got the right threads for that Schrader fitting, and the gauge will handle the fuel pressure easily. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
