Help diagnosing a problem

This is when I'm driving the Corsica at low speed in a parking lot. Say I take my foot off the gas. As I put my foot back down, it doesn't resume acceleration very smoothly, and sometimes makes a little noise.

Thanks in advance,

Re: Help diagnosing a problem

What kind of noise?? Hard to say what is wrong, a lot of possibilities. I would ask first, has the check engine light kicked on even for a few seconds? When was the car tuned up last? Spark plugs, wires, air filter, pcv valve. What is the year of the car and what motor do you have? has the fuel filter ever been replaced, and if so, when? If you have a check engine light you might have a bad 02 sensor, a bad MAP sensor, EGR valve problems or other. Would have to check for the code to see where to start. The IAC valve on these needs to be cleaned once in a while, say once a year, to remove carbon. Otherwise they idle poorly. Might check for vacuum lines that are leaking too. Finally, the throttle body intake needs to be cleaned to keep carbon build up off. Again, hard to really help but these are things that need looking at. Advise any further information back asap.

Re: Help diagnosing a problem

No check engine light.... it is a really subtle problem typical of an older car. I'm not worried as long as it's not transmission related. Thanks for caring btw!
