what should i buy
I'm really tired of my slow ass problematic car. and hearing crap when my tall ass gets out of a camaro,so i want a new vehicle....question...should i get save up 7000 this summer and get a bike, or save up 7000 for a down payment on a $17,000 SVT lightning. and possibly struggle next school year. my fate is in your hands.......discuss

Re: what should i buy
The truck would be more practical than a bike. If you don't have an extra vehicle, I'd say get the Lightning. But if you do and don't mind riding the bike only a handful of times during the year (depending on where you live and the weather), then get the bike. For more practical reasons, I think I'd pick the Lightning.

Re: what should i buy
If you get the crotch rocket you'll still need another vehicle for bad weather and when you want to move stuff. I wouldn't consider the bike unless you have extra money to blow on a play toy.
I don't have any experience with lightning so I'm not going to comment on them.

right! my plan was to keep the maro if i got the crotch rocket
and balls, jus so ya know,
the lightning is a better looking f-150 tuned by SVT, with a loud beautiful s/c that goes about as fast as a LS1 camaro.

Re: what should i buy
i'd still say get the lightning. practical, drivable reliable.
and it's the world's fastest production pickup, at 137mph.
the problem with a bike is that you can't ride them so often, and you can only ride them for pleasure (in most cases) because you can't carry anything. you can't take it to the store to buy food or anything. and if you got one and kept the camaro you'd be paying two insurance policies, and paying the costs to fuel/tyres/servicing/ on two vehicles.
if you sell the camaro and buy a lightning you've got speed, practicality, one insurance police etc.. and you can carry all kinds of stuff. my mate's brother has one over here and when it was stock he used it for carrying engines and stuff around. we could get two big blocks in there with no problem.
i just think the lightning is more sensible. (and i like last-gen F-150s.)

Its hard sometimes to get a stock truck to hook up, how the hell do they get a truck that can easily have 500+hp to hook up worth a damn??

I never liked the ford truck series, and a crotch rocket! You will probably kill yourself. Get something comfy like a BMW.

Re: what should i buy
Since when in the hell do you consider a Ford Lightning practical? Probably one of the least practical vehicles around (indicated by the sales volume). Can't haul much in it, sucks in rain, don't even discuss the snow...
A bike is economical, but not practical either... unless you're using it to commute to a job that's not a suit and tie type job. Can't drive it in the rain (or at least you'd be nuts to do it), forget snow, and anything under 50-60% is just dumb.. have to wear so much gear to keep warm it's almost dangerous. The gear to keep you safe if a wreck will run you 1500-2000 all by itself, assuming you think you're head's worth the cost of a helmet, you hands are worth the cost of gloves, etc.
If you're looking for a screwing around vehicle (which is what it sounds like) there's more out there than what you've listed. Jeeps are cheap and can take some abuse, if you buy a bike, buy a used one... say an 04-05 model... still new, won't have many miles, and you won't be paying a premium for a new bike.

Re: what should i buy
WHAT?!? $20K... you can't find anything for under 20K? Are you nuts?
Early 70's Corvette? You can pick up a NICE one for $15 or so, at least around here you can. Pick up an autotrader, all kinds of shit in there. You need to narrow the purpose down and THEN look, a sport-truck or crotch rocket? Looks like you just started thinking of stuff, not what really suits your purpose.
What do you mean you're tall? You're not like 7'10" or anything are you??? There's all kind of att-people shit you can get into with that kind of budget.
Keep in mind... REALLY tall guys on sportbikes look goofy. No offense, it's kinda like looking at a clown on one of those mini-bikes.
