Wacked Out Gas Gauge

Over the last couple months, my gas gauge ('98 Passport) has been acting weird . . . sometimes when I fill my tank, the gauge only registers 1/2 to 3/4 full. Even though I know it's really full. I have tried different pumps thinking that maybe there was just a problem with the "cut off" to stop overflow, but it doesn't seem to matter where I fill up. Sometimes the gauge works fine and shows the tank is topped off.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Re: Wacked Out Gas Gauge

On my 2001 model it was covered under warranty. Not sure how good the
'98's warranty is, but the '00 and '01 is tops.

Re: Wacked Out Gas Gauge

Thanks, guys . . . I actually did have 10yr 100k warranty, but I'm long past 100k. I'll look into the sending unit!
