I have 94 22re 4runner thats idle is extremly low on a hot startup. The car runs perfect on a cold startup and idles perfectly once it has warmed up. The only time I have trouble is once the car is hot and i leave it sitting for 10-20 minutes. Once i rev up the engine the problem subsides and it runs fine. Because of this problem my vehicle is not passing smog. I already have taken it to different mechanics and none of them can figure it out. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this?
Thanks
Can you not just plug in a diagnostic to the plug in the back of the fuse box behind the battery, it should tell you if it's the sensor or not? Thats what I did for mine, but mine was sputtering and running really rich. I ended up doing the mass air flow sensor as well.
You can look it up in the Toyota Manuals mentioned in the 3rd or 4th Post, On The Main Page, they have trouble shooting and may be able to help you diagnose your problem. Check them out.
Good Luck.
