Well, I've never actually heard of anyone else but him. Do you know anything about any other dragsters? They are so cool. And talk about insane. Those people are mental.:D

There's the Joe Amato Top Fuel drag racing team. Unbelievable power. Estimated power output (there's not a dyno in existence that can measure this kind of power) is 7,000 horsepower coupled with 5,000 ft-lbs. of torque. This power is generated by an 8.1 or 8.2 liter V8, boosted by a roots-style supercharger and powered by nitrous. Power is laid to the tarmac via direct drive (NO transmission gearing). This can move the approximately 2,250-pound dragster through a quarter-mile is about 4.9 seconds at 325 miles per hour.

And I thought Porsches were fast...

This seems like a pointless, mindless, numb-nutted topic, but I'll join in.

Sure, I've heard of some other dragsters. Ed Bergenholtz, Lisa Kubo, Adam Saruwatarri.

While we're at it, has anybody heard of any cats? What about hamburgers, anyone ever heard of them? Does anybody know the best place to go swimming in Minneapolis? Anyone ever tried hummus on toast? I have.

Not "do you want to talk about them", or "can I hear about them", just, have you ever heard of them?

I used to think the professional drag racing circuit was pointless, but I've changed my tune in time. Think about the evolution: man builds the car, finds that he can tune it to make it increasingly fast. To make it faster, he must make it lighter, more durable, more resistant to frictional forces, heightened intake temperatures, etc., not to mention that it must have a higher standard of driver safety in the event of a high speed crash.

Drag racing has helped push the envelope for what cars can do ever forward. The technological advancements made on drag strips and race tracks make the street legal cars we drive increasingly advanced, safer, faster, and more economical. Why do you think just about every major auto manufacturer in the world sponsors racing teams? Drag racing serves an important role in the automobile world - make no mistake about it.

John Force a rude person?
HAH!
Every drag racing event I've been to, he's gone out of his way to show kids his car. He lets 'em sit in 'em, look around his shop and just hang out...
He's a good guy and an AMAZING race car driver.

Some of you may think it's pointless and that it doesn't take skill to drive a car down the 1/4 mile, but how about YOU strap yourself to a 7000hp machine and try to keep it going down the track STRAIGHT!
It's all about finess and trial and error. It took FOREVER to make my car launch the way I wanted it to, and countless hours trying to figure out how to extract max HP with my setup...It's more then just driving...
