Weird hardpipe problem

Well my friend finally got his 7mgte swap in his 90' supra up and running. We were trying to replace all those plastic intercooler pipes with hardpipes but the weirdest thing happens when we install the upper pipe(that connects to the tb). It sounds like the car is about to die and will turn off randomly...when we put the stock upper pipe back on it runs fine. I was thinking that maybe the computer needs to be reset, any ideas?

Re: Weird hardpipe problem

Sounds like you have an intake leak.

Re: Weird hardpipe problem

Have you run it with a vac/boost gauge attached to the intake after the TB? You can compare readings between the two pipes to determine if there is a leak.

Re: Weird hardpipe problem

Sounds like a good idea, we'll try this. He keeps saying that he thinks the pipes are too big...I wouldn't think that would have any play in the matter...They are 2.5 or 3"; something like that...
