radio not working and no dash board sounds

Any ideas on why my radio would not be working (the digital screen is showing stations, etc.), but no sound is coming out, and also my chimes are not working like when I leave my keys in the ignition or my change oil light comes on. I checked the fuse and it seems to be okay. Any suggestions as to what it could be?

Re: radio not working and no dash board sounds

Did you check all three fuse boxes?

Thier are some for the Body Control Module(BCM) which this controls the chimes and I think part of the sound system.

If thier are no fuses or relays blown then you might have a bad BCM, which can usually can only be tested by the Stealership, or someone with a GM Tech II scanner.

Re: radio not working and no dash board sounds

I am only aware of 2 fuse boxes (driver side and passenger side doors). Where is the 3rd? I figured I would have to take to the dealer, just trying to avoid it if I could figure out for myself.

Re: radio not working and no dash board sounds

you can pry out the radio and check for loose wires behind it or if any are disconeccted
