Adding Chevron Techron to a full tank???

The problem, I filled up before adding the fuel addative, but it says to add it to an empty tank, then fill it. I have not added the addative yet. I'd very much like to. Can I add it to a full tank - which is opposite of the instructions....

If I add it to my full tank today just as I hit the desert trails (I'm going 5 miles down a rough road) - would that be OK, or will not following the advice of adding it to an empty tank, then filling it up with gas screw me up.. I figure the rough trail would mix it up pretty quick, or am I assuming somethign wrong...

I really don't wanna wait till the next fill up, I need to do an oil change, and wanna run the addative thru first!

thoughts????

Thanks!

I'd say go for it. It should mix up just fine after a few start and stops.

Anyone know if this stuff is available in Canada? I still have a very hard time getting anything like this shipped over the border since 9/11

It'll mix up just fine if you're hitting a rough road for a few miles.

I've even used it without hitting a rough road into a full tank.

One thing I will suggest, I would wait to use it when you're down to only 500-1k left on an old oil change. Reason I say this, is the techron is notorious for getting into the oil and causing a very tiny amount of wear on your bearings; so basically, what I'm saying, is put it in the gas tank no more then 1k miles away from an oil change.

are you going to do major damage by dumping the bottle into a full tank? probably not. are you likely to get it's full benefit? probably not.

if chevron thought dumping the stuff into the full tank was as beneficial as dumping it in before fill up so the additive is fully mixed throughout, they would jump at it, because it's easier for the consumer. instead, they elected to carefully instruct the buyer on how to use the stuff.

i'd follow what they have to say. i'd guess they know what works best.
