I am wonder if 2 BMW with the same capacity (let say 2000cm3), one is diesel, one is gasoline. So which one has higher power (kW)?
Thanks

Re: diesel and gasoline comparison
The Diesel will have torque and get better fuel economy, the gas engine will have more horsepower and will be more responsive/sportier.

Re: diesel and gasoline comparison
Thank you Dinan. I am new to this forum and new to car technique as well. Could you please explain to me "more torque". Does it mean your car will crawl the steep hill better?

Re: diesel and gasoline comparison
Torque is generally defined as twisting power. I'm not very good at explaining it, so here is a link that will do a better job then I ever could-

Re: diesel and gasoline comparison
The Diesel will have more torque, but if they are both two liter motors, the gas motor is more efficient.
