242gt

What kind of life expectancy can you expect out of a 1980 242GT.
I quess i mean engine and trans life,
I am looking at a used one that has 245K but seems to be in good shape.
Car also has original trans but clutch has been replaced before.
Thanks

al

Re: 242gt

These engines live forever, even if you remove the oil and water it will run at full rmp in 15-20 minutes or something like it, I remember my friend tried to kill one but had lots of problems. They are known to just go and go. The 200 models are relative primitive which means that they are easy to maintain and repair by your self. The 2 doors are popular even here in Sweden, starts to get hard to find them at realistic price or condition (rust, we have lots of bad weather and lots of salt against the winter).
