Diagnostic Code interpretationGTS767 03-26-2007, 03:12 PM I just had my 95 Bon, 3.8, scanned for diagnostic codes, as the security alarm used to sound after locking the car. The code displayed was 0740 and tcc next to it. Can spneone advise what this code means. Thank You maxwedge 03-26-2007, 04:26 PM It refers to the TCC operation, slippage issues, any symptoms? GTS767 03-26-2007, 04:42 PM Thanks for replying so quickly!! It really runs fine. Sometime ago, the transmission used to take off in second gear, and it felt like slipping due to lack of torque, but after replacing the PCM, all went to normal. Are you referring to transmssion slippage?? Thanks maxwedge 03-26-2007, 07:29 PM Yes and /or torque covertor lock up slippage. jasoninva 03-27-2007, 01:52 PM my 95 bonneville is throwing the same code the tranny was just installed, low milage...still theres this same issue as the old tranny.. according to the book this 740 code means that the "tcc's circuit is malfunctioning". the tranny shop said that the problem is within the valve body...possibly a worn TCC regulator valve What makes them lean this way is that this inablity to go into overdrive only occurs when the car is "hot"/been driven for a while. Something to do with oil getting by valves when hot =not enough pressure= tcc slippage vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
