97 gp service engine light on steady

yes, i own a 1979 gp se with a 3.8 engine the service engine light comes and stays on. had a auto store hook a scanner and code 108 came up what is the problem any help would be appreciated. the mileage is 127,000

It would be helpful to post your mileage.

DTC P0108 means the MAP sensor circuit has a high input. To trigger the specific DTC the PCM module has to detect a short to low or an open in either the signal circuit or in the MAP sensor itself. So remove and reseat the electrical connector. Inspect for corrosion on the contacts or a broken wire. If that looks good then replace the MAP sensor. It is located on the right hand side (passenger) of the upper intake manifold plenum (UIM). Underneath it is the PCV valve. Very easy to replace DIY.
