Transfer Case Question

I am looking into doing a LS1 or LS2 swap in my 98 2 Door Blazer 4x4. I know I will be geting a 4L60E tranny out of a truck to swap in also, but I am concerned about my transfer case and how it will handle the power, if at all. I do not use 4WD much but I live in Michigan so its nice for the winter sometimes. I am just wondering if anyone knows how much power the transfer case and front drive line components will take. Thanks.

Re: Transfer Case Question

Believe the larger models use the larger transfer case - if 3 button Blazer is 233 model while the V8 uses the 243 case. Search on the NP233 and NP243 - tag on rear of yours tells the model. Good news is that those cases are not driving the front shaft in 2wd and no clutch packs to burn up. I would also be concerned with the rear and front diffs blowing with much more HP. Look that up too.
