2000 Monte Carlo airbag removalRamking 03-21-2007, 11:24 PM Can anyone tell me how to remove a driver's side airbag on a 2000 Monte Carlo? I am rebuilding one, both airbags deployed, but I can not figure out how to remove the driver's side. It looks a little like a '97 Grand Prix where you have to insert a screwdriver in the holes behind the steering wheel to pop out spring loaded clips. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!! dugan50 03-22-2007, 07:35 AM You are correct. Insert a flat-bladed screwdriver into one of the four openings in the back of the steering wheel. Turn the screwdriver counterclockwise to disengage the spring from the slot in the module. Pull the module gently away from the steering wheel. Repeat the previous three steps for the remaining openings. maxwedge 03-22-2007, 09:27 AM Can anyone tell me how to remove a driver's side airbag on a 2000 Monte Carlo? Welcome to AF. Remember you must replace the DERM also, usually under the seat or console. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
