Hey I've got a 1999 Ram 1500 I purchased from a friend. As the annual state inspection is approaching, I noticed neither back-up light works. I hoped it was 2 burned out bulbs. Not so lucky. I tried to find the fuse, and no fuse under the hood seems to be for reverse lights. The only one that was close was Fog Lamp/DRL (hopefully rl standing for reverse lamp), anyway, that fuse is fine. the shift indicator for the trans does go into R when I put the auto trans in reverse. Any ideas on where I could find this fuse and how I could further diagnose the problem? Any help is appreciated!

I think there might be a switch on the steering column under near the brake pedal the switch might be bad or not aligned correctly on the column. Also like you are trying to find a fuse it could be the fuse if there is one for the backup light good luck

Try to move the shifter in and out of reverse slowly to see if they come on then. It may be a switch out of adjustment. The bad news is DRL stands for daytime running lights.
