So my wife's parents just gave us their old Rav 4, its a 1998 4 cyl. Anyways, it has a power lock system, which I believe is after market since it has manual roll down windows. Well the problem is we cannot unlock, or open the two front doors while the car is on (for some reason the back doors can open anytime.)

This is really annoying because we have to turn off the car if we forgot something in the house or need to drop someone off, or even if a door doesn't get all the way closed. As soon as you turn on the car the doors lock. And then they won't unlock until the car is off.

Any Ideas? Help would be very much appreciated. the alarm system doesn't have any sort of tags or anything identifying itself (at least on the siren.)

Use your finger. I'm not being a smart ace. That's what I do. I have a '97 with the locks next to the door handles. I just flip the lock back with my finger and I can escape. I tried using the unlock button but it's my wife's car and I always seem to put the window down but not unlock the door. So, I just use the old fashion way.
